Peace of mind is a wonderful thing and that’s exactly what this service will give you. A camera fed up the chimney giving us a clear picture of what is going on inside your chimney. It enables us to see any breaches, blockages or birds nests etc. with absolute certainty. Ideal for new tenancies, before a liner installation and when the history of the chimney is unknown. this service includes full sweep, carbon monoxide alarm check and test, smoke test and stove service.
Specialist nest removal equipment for inactive bird nests. Price includes sweep, CCTV inspection to identify nest, specialist nest removal equipment to clear the nest and CCTV inspection afterwards to ensure all is clear. Disposal of the old nest is the customers resposibility.
Should be fitted in every room with a solid fuel burning appliance. A fitted and working alarm is required for insurance certificate.
We would recommend fitting a bird guard as preventation is better than cure however birds will sometimes find it into a chimney. If you a hear a bird in your chimney in distress please call and don’t let the bird suffer and die slowly in the chimney. The corpse will decompose and cause smells you really would prefer to be without and you’ll end up with a bigger bill to clear the flu.

Sweeping a chimney takes from 20 minutes to 1 and a half hours on average and nest removal or unexpected problems can take upwards of 4 hours. For these reasons it is impossible to give specific timed appointments. I will text a couple of days before your appointment to give a rough time slot once I know my route. You can also request a text when I'm on my way. I'm happy to oblige with keys being left with neighbours etc. and will always try to be as helpful as possible. Missed appointments are charged at a minimum of £40 per chimney booked in.
Almost certainly no. Everything is sheeted up beforehand and I have a professional industrial vacuum running to contain the soot fall in the fireplace. There are exceptions, very rarely there will need to be some clean up in the room only where the chimney has been neglected/poorly maintained or there is a large bird nest but even in these cases there is rarely any mess in the room.
All chimneys are different so all prices are estimates. There are many factors that will affect the work required including, but not limited to, how well the chimney has been maintained, the height of the building and whether the appliance has been installed to a good standard. A DIY stove installation with no liner in the chimney will cost more than a professionally installed stove with HETAS certificate and a lined chimney. If I charged a fixed price this would suggest I do the same thing at each job. All of the chimneys are swept properly to the highest standards, the end cost won't really be known until the end of the job. Discount is available for multiple chimneys in the same dwelling.
Any ornaments that may be around your fireplace should be removed and I will need approx 1.5 metres in front of the fireplace to give me space to work and to bring the equipment in. I'm in and out of the front door a fair bit during the process so precautions may need to be taken with any pets in the house. A parking space on the drive or outside the house is a massive help wherever possible and any rubbish or ash in the fireplace should be cleared away. The fire should be out for at least 12 hours before the chimney sweep. Please ensure that your mobile phone is on and being monitored incase I have to contact you on the day for any reason.
Chimneys should be swept a minimum of once per year for safety and insurance purposes. An insurance recognised certificate will be issued on successful completion of the sweep.
Payment via cash or card on completion of the job.
Payment is due on completion of work by cash or credit/debit card only. Late payment of 7 days or more will incur an £80 administration fee + interest on the entire balance. Balances unpaid after 30 days will be passed to a debt collection agency and will incur further charges. Payment may be asked for up front at the companies discretion. I reserve the right to change my terms and conditions at any time. In the event of a customer 'no show' a charge of £40 per booked in chimney will be issued. Disposal of soot is the customers responsibility. No liability will be accepted if a bird guard or cowl is knocked off during the sweeping process. A correctly fitted guard in good repair would not be dislodged even if I were trying. The minimum call out fee is £40 regardless of whether the chimney cannot be swept for any reason.
